Larger Grain Borer, Prostephanus truncates

The Larger Grain Borer is brown or black  and looks similar to the Lesser Grain Borer, however it can be differentiated as it is slightly larger.

The beetle infests stored products including grains and seeds along with dried root crops.  The female lays eggs inside, or near to, the stored products and lays up to 600 eggs in a lifetime.
