Rice Weevil, Sitophilus Oryzae

The Rice Weevil is 3-4mm in length and is almost identical in appearance to the Grain Weevil.

Its larvae feed in stored products such as rice, corn, oats, nuts, seeds and pasta. An infested area is often moist from the insects’ respiration and holes in grains can be spotted. Eggs from the Rice weevil hatch in just 3-4 days.
