Impact Board Black

Colour optimised sticky glue traps for control of various greenhouse pests

Russell IPM Impact board traps attract and trap a wide range of insect pests. Each trap type is a specific colour, designed and tested to maximise the attraction and catch of the most important pest species.

The traps can be used in high temperature, high humidity environments and the adhesive is UV-light stable, making them ideal for use within glasshouse and polytunnel crops as well as outside. They have a convenient peel-off paper cover, ensuring that the product is easy-to-use and easy to hang out. The grid printed on one side is a guide to help with counting the insects.

Benefits of the Impact board yellow
  • Scientifically optimised colour matrix to maximise pest catch rate whilst reducing attraction to beneficial insects.
  • High tack adhesive layer.
  • Ideal for quick and simple monitoring.

Black Impact Boards are used for monitoring the South American tomato moth, Tuta absoluta. Black traps were found to be more attractive than other colours tested. For mass trapping use one trap per 100m2 and combine the traps with pheromone lures. Alternatively use our wet glue boards or Optiroll Tuta/Tuta rolls, which are infused with Tuta absoluta sex pheromone.

Monitor weekly from the start of the crop cycle by placing one trap per 500m2, with some traps near to points of entry into greenhouses. Suspend the trap vertically in the crop, 15-20cm above ground in young crops or up to 50cm above ground level in mature crops. Replace after 6 to 8 weeks or sooner if covered in insects.
