Varied Carpet Beetle, Anthrenus verbasci

The varied carpet beetle is a household pest and damages carpets, furniture and clothing.

It lays eggs underneath carpets and in cupboards and the lifecycle of the beetle varies from 2 months to 2 years during which time they lay hundreds of eggs causing rapid infestation.
