Insect pheromones, behaviour modifying components are eliciting behavior of the organism to find a mate, food, host or enemy. The chemical signal secreted from sex pheromone trap causes a specific behavioral reaction to male insect by mimicking natural female released pheromone. It attracts male moths to the pheromone source which then foolishly ends up into the synthetic source of attraction. A pheromone tends to be very target-specific, highly biologically active, effective at very low concentrations, and they are non-toxic to plants and insects.
